Colleferro

Colleferro is an industrial commune in the Metropolitan City of Rome located between the Alban Hills and the Monti Lepini mountains. The town sits at 218 meters elevation and is crossed by railway lines and highway routes that make it a key transport junction.

Colleferro emerged in 1912 when an old sugar factory was converted into an explosives production facility. This industrial foundation led to its formal establishment as an independent municipality in 1935.
