Founded in 1618 on the grounds of Scipione De Curtis Palace, the church underwent reconstruction in the 18th century with interior designs by Domenico Antonio Vaccaro.
The interior features ceiling frescoes from 1890 by Vincenzo Galloppi and a main altar by Granucci, combining different artistic periods of Naples.
The church maintains regular opening hours for visitors who can access the building through the grand staircase from Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
In 1875, builders created a reproduction of the Grotto of Lourdes within the church complex, establishing a connection to French religious traditions.
