Museo della Moda Napoli - Mondragone Foundation, Fashion and textile museum in Spanish Quarters, Naples, Italy

Museo della Moda Napoli is a fashion museum in the Spanish Quarters that displays a broad collection of garments, textiles, and religious objects. The exhibits include over 400 pieces such as wedding dresses, accessories, vestments from the 16th century onwards, and textiles from different periods.

The foundation was established in 1655 by nobleman Antonio Carafa and was originally a private institution. The fashion museum opened to the public in 2003 and was created as a tribute to Carafa's wife Elena Aldobrandini.

The collection features creations by Neapolitan designers Fausto Sarli and Livio De Simone, who shaped the city's reputation in the fashion world. Visitors also see precious fabrics from the San Leucio factory that operated between 1850 and 1950, reflecting the region's craft tradition.

The museum is located at Piazzetta Mondragone 18 and is accessible Monday through Friday, while weekend visits require advance notice. Access is straightforward and the spaces are well organized for exploring the various collections.

The museum preserves religious artifacts such as altar frontals and vestments from the 1600s, revealing how fashion and religious traditions were interwoven in Naples. These rare textiles expose an often overlooked connection between secular and sacred craftsmanship.
