The Santa Maria degli Angeli church features a neoclassical main altar designed by Giovanni Battista Broggia and multiple decorated chapels along its sides.
Construction of the Santa Maria degli Angeli church, initiated by architect Francesco Grimaldi for the Theatine Order, extended from 1587 until its completion in 1610.
The central nave and transept ceilings display frescoes depicting Scenes from the Life of the Virgin, created by Giovanni Battista Beinaschi between 1668 and 1675.
The church contains numerous artworks by renowned painters including Luca Giordano, Andrea Vaccaro, Massimo Stanzione, and Paolo De Matteis throughout its interior spaces.
The wooden choir behind the altar exhibits mirrors with ornate frames, fluted columns with Corinthian capitals, and seats decorated with volutes culminating in cherubs.
