Palazzo Calabritto, Noble palace in San Ferdinando district, Naples, Italy.
Palazzo Calabritto is a noble palace located at the corner of Via Calabritto and Piazza dei Martiri in the San Ferdinando district. Its ground floor displays marble portals adorned with Ionic caryatids and decorated vaults throughout the rooms.
A member of the Tuttavilla family acquired the building in 1754 and commissioned a major renovation by a prominent Neapolitan architect. These extensive works transformed the palace into its current refined appearance.
The palace served as a venue for Anglican Church gatherings and workshops of a local fashion designer across different periods. Visitors can still sense the layers of different activities that took place within these rooms.
The building sits at a prominent corner location near Piazza dei Martiri, making it easy to find and approach from the surrounding streets. Access is straightforward from the main square and nearby pedestrian paths in the neighborhood.
During the late 1980s, the building briefly served as office headquarters for a celebrated local football club during its period of major success. This chapter represents an unusual use for such a historic space.
