Castle Ried

Castle Ried is a medieval fortress in Ritten featuring stone walls and characteristic architectural elements from the Middle Ages. The structure sits within a network of cycling paths that connect communities throughout the Ritten region.

The structure was built around 1200 and documents medieval architecture and construction techniques of that period. Its origins coincide with the settlement and fortification of mountain regions in South Tyrol.
