Tschigat

Gigot is an alpine summit that rises 3,001 meters in the Texelgruppe mountain range of South Tyrol. The peak features steep rocky slopes and opens up views across neighboring mountain formations.

Mountaineers have climbed the peak since the early days of Alpine exploration, with routes established through challenging terrain. The climbing routes developed then remain central to how visitors experience the mountain today.

Local mountain communities maintain traditional practices of Alpine farming and seasonal celebrations connected to the mountain landscapes of South Tyrol.

Marked hiking trails lead up the mountain, with a mountain hut situated near the peak for shelter and supplies. Routes require good foot security and experience at higher elevations.

The mountain stands as the 62nd highest peak among 153 summits in Naturpark Texelgruppe, with a prominence of 197 meters.
