Autostrada A1 bridge

The Autostrada A1 bridge extends 180 meters across the Arno River using five separate spans constructed from reinforced and prestressed concrete. The structure measures 24 meters wide and 20 meters high to accommodate modern highway traffic.

Construction of the bridge began in 1960 under Autostrade per l'Italia and opened to traffic in 1961. The project formed part of Italy's national motorway expansion during the post-war development period.
