Immacolata Church

Immacolata Church is a religious complex in Sestri Levante featuring medieval style architecture with a striking black and white striped facade, positioned on high ground east of Baia del Silenzio. Inside, the high altar displays an 18th-century wooden statue, while two significant paintings by Domenico Fiasella depicting religious scenes hang within the walls.

This religious complex was built between 1683 and 1688 when Capuchin friars sought a more isolated location away from the town center, replacing an earlier structure. The property passed through multiple hands over centuries, including use as a civil hospital, before eventually returning to Capuchin management.

The church is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, reflecting deep religious devotion in this coastal region. Its elevated position and distinctive appearance made it a spiritual landmark that residents could see from various parts of town.
