Santa Maria di Nazareth Basilica, Minor basilica in Sestri Levante, Italy
The three-nave basilica features square pillars with pilasters supporting rounded arches, leading to a raised chancel and semicircular apse.
Construction began in 1604 after nobleman Bernardo Bolasco provided land, with architect Giovanni Battista Carbone completing the structure twelve years later.
The basilica houses notable artworks, including frescoes by Lazzaro De Maestri from 1893 and paintings by Castellino Castello and Giuseppe Galeotti.
Located in Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, the basilica serves as an active parish church within the Diocese of Chiavari for religious services.
The church contains a 12th-century wooden crucifix from the former parish of St. Nicolò, which received papal recognition for coronation in 1903.
