Santa Maria della Consolazione, Renaissance church in Ferrara, Italy.
The church features a monumental apse, three naves with a barrel-vaulted central section, and a portico at the main entrance portal.
Construction of Santa Maria della Consolazione began in 1501 under Duke Ercole I d'Este and concluded in 1516, with architect Biagio Rossetti leading the project.
The apse contains a fresco from the early 1500s depicting the Coronation of the Virgin, complete with angels playing musical instruments.
Located at Via Mortara 94-100, the church reopened in 2021 following restoration work necessitated by earthquake damage in 2012.
The church holds an unfinished facade, a testament to Biagio Rossetti's incomplete architectural vision for the structure.
