Founded between the 13th and 14th centuries as a convent, the church underwent major reconstruction in 1703 under architect Giovanni Battista Foggini.
The right wall displays artistic works including a Saint Clair painting by Francesco Botti and a Saint Augustine piece by Jacopo Vignali.
Located in central Florence, the church stands near the detached Renaissance frescoes from the refectory showing the Last Supper and Annunciation scenes.
The adjacent monastery transformed through various functions over time, serving as an orphanage, an asylum, and later a training facility for police officers.
