The villa underwent transformation in the 18th century when Abbot Ferdinando D'Adda commissioned construction of an additional building called Montagnola. This expansion marked a phase when the residence acquired its present form and established its significance as a cultural landmark.

The architectural restoration by Atelier Alfonso Femia in 2018 transformed the villa into a cultural center while preserving its historical elements.

Visiting the residence requires advance booking of guided tours through the official website, with special openings during the Ville Aperte Autunno event in September and October. Visitors should arrange access early, as places are limited and demand is high during these periods.

During the 2018 restoration, modern lighting systems had to be adapted to avoid ceiling installations in shared areas, presenting unusual construction challenges. This solution demonstrates how contemporary design can work with historical building structures without compromising original fabric.
