Villa Puricelli Guerra

Villa Puricelli Guerra is a mansion in Sesto San Giovanni with two courtyards, the main one U-shaped with terracotta medallions and semi-circular arches along its walls. The structure now houses ALER Milano offices following a major renovation completed in 2018.

The property was established by the Jesuit Order in 1721 and later passed to ownership under Maria Theresa of Austria. After Napoleon's arrival, Giuseppe Manara took control of the estate in 1797.

The building blends 18th-century design with 19th-century neo-Gothic details like twin windows and pointed arches. These features reflect the area's architectural evolution and shape how the courtyards and facades appear to visitors today.

The property sits at Via Puricelli Guerra 24 and now functions as an office building following modernization. Access to the courtyard and building is available during business hours, though the space serves primarily as a working office rather than a public site.

Excavations in 1995 uncovered walls from the year 1000 and sections of a 14th-century road buried beneath the current structure. These findings show that the land has been occupied and traveled for centuries, long before the present villa was built.
