Bivacco Rigatti

Bivacco Rigatti is a metal shelter located at 2650 meters elevation on the Latemar mountain ridge. The hut offers nine beds equipped with mattresses and blankets for overnight stays in the high mountains.

The Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini established this shelter in 1972 to support climbers exploring the steep rock faces of the Dolomites. The construction was part of a broader movement to provide refuge in remote mountain areas.

The shelter bears the name of Mario Rigatti and follows the long tradition of Italian alpine refuges supporting mountaineering activities in high altitudes.

The path to reach the shelter involves steep sections secured with fixed cables to assist climbers on the most exposed passages. Sturdy hiking boots and experience on exposed mountain terrain are recommended for a safe visit.

Wild raspberries and strawberries grow along the trail, providing hikers with a natural food source during the climb. These berries offer a surprising way to refuel while ascending through the mountain terrain.
