Bivacco Rigatti, Mountain shelter in Predazzo, Italy.
The metal structure positioned at 2650 meters elevation in the Latemar mountain range contains nine beds with mattresses and blankets for overnight stays.
The Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini established this mountain shelter in 1972 to support climbers exploring the steep cliffs of the Dolomites region.
The shelter bears the name of Mario Rigatti and follows the long tradition of Italian alpine refuges supporting mountaineering activities in high altitudes.
Hikers reach the shelter through a 70-minute trek from Bivacco Latemar, which requires a prior 3.5-hour walk from the parking area at Forno.
The path leading to the shelter passes through landscapes with wild raspberries and strawberries, while fixed cables assist climbers on steeper sections.
