Museum of Contemporary Art of Alcamo, Contemporary art museum in Piazza Ciullo, Alcamo, Italy
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Alcamo occupies 400 square meters on the first floor of the former Jesuit College, featuring exhibition halls and a dedicated information desk.
The museum opened in 2014 under Mayor Sebastiano Bonventre's administration and launched its inaugural exhibition 'Art on Loan' in February 2015 with works from multiple Italian museums.
The museum houses archaeological discoveries from Mount Bonifato and Castle of Calatubo alongside modern artworks by artists including Turi Simeti and Vito Bongiorno.
Visitors can access the museum daily, including Sundays, from 9:30 to 12:30 and 16:30 to 19:30, with entrance through the main doorway in Piazza Ciullo.
Eight exhibition halls in the East wing display contemporary works while the South wing presents archaeological artifacts and scientific instruments in eight additional spaces.
