Fiume Adige tra Belluno Veronese e Verona Ovest

The Natura 2000 site extends across 476 hectares along the Adige River, featuring diverse river habitats and riparian vegetation zones.

The area received designation as a Site of Community Importance in 2006 and achieved Special Area of Conservation status in 2018.

This natural heritage site protects 17 species under Nature Directives and maintains four distinct habitat types specified in the Habitats Directive.

The protected area includes paths for bird watching, where visitors can observe kingfishers, grey herons, and little egrets in wetland zones.

An engineering system of tunnels links the Adige River to Lake Garda, constructed in the twentieth century to prevent flooding in the region.
