Museo della carta di Toscolano Maderno

The Paper Museum occupies a 3,500-square-meter space within the former Maina Inferiore paper mill, featuring exhibits on traditional and industrial paper production methods.

The paper-making tradition in Toscolano Maderno began in 1381, with the last factory in Paper Mill Valley closing in 1962, marking the end of industrial production.

The museum displays rare volumes printed by Paganini publishers and maintains an interactive station where visitors experience daily life in historical paper manufacturing.

The museum opens from March 15 to October 15, with guided tours available in multiple languages and a tourist train connecting from the Town Hall Square.

A 33-meter chimney built after 1905 stands as a reminder of the industrial heritage, while the fifteenth-century building houses demonstrations of ancient papermaking techniques.
