Villa Branca, Gothic Revival villa in Baveno, Italy
The villa features five large windows opening onto a terrace with classical statues, while two towers with pyramid-shaped roofs crown the structure.
British engineer Charles Henfrey commissioned the construction of the villa between 1871 and 1873, initially naming it Villa Clara after his wife.
The architecture incorporates English Gothic elements, reflecting the international influences on Italian lakeside mansions during the late nineteenth century.
The villa stands directly facing the port of Baveno, with access available from the Sempione state road along the Lake Maggiore shore.
A fire in 2007 severely damaged the structure, requiring extensive reconstruction based on historical photographs and drawings to restore its original design.
