Education Museum, Education museum in Tome, Japan.

The Education Museum occupies a Renaissance-style building with a central clock tower, tile roof, and wooden crosspieces representing educational architecture from 1901.

The institution started as Yamagata School of Education in 1878, training teachers in the region until its transformation into a museum in 1989.

The museum holds over 30,000 items spanning Japanese educational history, arts, folklore, and archaeology, including materials from different historical periods.

Visitors can explore exhibition rooms dedicated to education, science, technology, culture, and sports, with displays arranged by the Ministry of Education.

The building features unusual slanted flooring and ceiling boards that function as structural supports, differing from standard construction methods of its time.
