Education Museum

The Education Museum is located in a building from 1901 with a clock tower at the center, tile roof, and wooden structural elements. Inside, exhibition rooms display collections related to teaching, science, technology, culture, and sports.

The building was founded in 1901 as a teacher training school and served this purpose for more than a century. After the school closed, it was converted into a museum to preserve the history of education in the region.

The museum shows how education developed in Japan and how people once learned and taught. Visitors can see the school books, writing tools, and teaching materials that were used in different eras.

The museum is best visited in the morning or early afternoon when fewer visitors are present. The building is located somewhat outside the town center, so plan your route in advance.

The building features slanted floor and ceiling boards that function as structural supports, which differs from typical construction methods of that era. This structural quirk gives the interior a distinctive appearance that visitors often miss.
