Sanuki Kodomonokuni

Sanuki Kodomonokuni is a large recreational park in Takamatsu with multiple zones designed for learning and play. It features a planetarium, science workshops, art studios, and computer laboratories spread across the grounds to engage children in different activities.

The park opened in 1995 and quickly became the largest facility of its kind in Kagawa Prefecture. Its creation reflected the growing interest in modern educational spaces for children during that period.

The place reflects Japanese approaches to childhood development through hands-on learning and group activities woven into its design. You will see how families spend time together while children explore nature and technology in the same space.

The grounds are spacious and well-organized with plenty of room to move around and different zones accessible on foot. Wear comfortable shoes and plan to spend several hours to try out different activities.

An observation deck offers views of the nearby airport where you can watch aircraft taking off and landing. A restored YS-11 aircraft sits permanently on the grounds and can be explored by visitors.
