Mount Ōmuro, Lateral volcano in Japan
Mount Ōmuro is a grass-covered scoria cone associated with Mount Fuji.
It formed through explosive eruptions about 4,000 to 3,500 years ago.
The mountain is celebrated in Japanese literature and folklore.
Visitors can enjoy a walking trail around the rim of the extinct crater.
In spring, Omuro's slope becomes vibrant with blooming pink Shibazakura flowers.
