Naramachi Museum

The Naramachi Museum occupies a preserved historic building and displays traditional wooden shop signs, folk implements, and Buddhist statues. The exhibition space presents handcrafted items that belonged to people in the city across different time periods.

The museum was founded in 1985 and has documented local history through artifacts from the Edo and Meiji periods since its opening. The collection preserves memories of this area's past as a trading center.

The museum is about 15 minutes on foot from Kintetsu Nara Station and opens daily to visitors. Entry is free and you can explore the exhibition without any advance planning needed.
