小半鍾乳洞, Limestone cave in Mine City, Japan

The Akiyoshido Cave extends over 10 kilometers through limestone formations, with passages reaching heights of 80 meters and widths of 200 meters.

The cave received its name in 1926 during a visit by Crown Prince Hirohito and later obtained status as a Special Natural Monument of Japan.

The cave passages contain distinct limestone structures named by locals, including the Golden Column, Hundred Plates, and Full of Umbrellas formations.

The cave maintains a constant temperature of 17 degrees Celsius throughout the year, with paved walkways and lighting systems for visitor access.

Six species of bats inhabit the cave alongside specialized creatures that evolved without pigmentation and eyesight in the dark environment.
