Tokushima Modern Art Museum

The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday from 09:30 to 17:00 and sits within a park offering walking paths and green spaces. Visitors should allow time for a stroll through the grounds, especially if they wish to enjoy the natural setting alongside the art.

In 1999, the museum purchased a painting for roughly 67 million yen that was later identified as a forgery created by German art forger Wolfgang Beltracchi. This incident highlights how challenging it can be to distinguish authentic artworks from sophisticated counterfeits, even for experienced professionals.
