Nihon Kogakuin College, Specialized training college in Nishi-Kamata, Japan
Nihon Kogakuin College is a specialized training school for technology and media in Nishi-Kamata. The 20-story glass structure houses lecture halls, computer labs and dedicated teaching spaces for technical subjects.
The college was founded in 1947 and initially trained professionals for postwar reconstruction in Japan. Over the decades it expanded to offer 34 departments with more than 100 courses.
The institution brings together students from South Korea, Taiwan and other Asian countries who study engineering and technology here. Japanese and international learners regularly meet in the shared computer rooms and workshops inside the building.
The building sits two minutes on foot from Kamata Station and provides quick connections to central Tokyo. Graduates of language courses often receive tuition waivers when enrolling in technical programs.
The Hachioji campus covers an area eight times larger than the Tokyo Dome baseball stadium. Television productions regularly use the sprawling grounds as a filming location for various shows.
