Hongan-ji Tsumura Betsuin, Buddhist temple in Hon, Japan
The Hongan-ji Tsumura Betsuin temple features a modern concrete main hall constructed in 1964, surrounded by traditional Japanese garden elements.
Founded in 1597, the temple relocated to its current location in the Tsumura district after moving from the Temma area of Osaka.
The temple maintains strong connections with the community through musical concerts, educational programs, and its mascot character Kitamizou.
Visitors can access the temple from Osaka Station by taking the Midosuji subway line to Honmachi Station, with the entrance located immediately left of exit 2.
The name of Midosuji Avenue, a main street in Osaka, derives from connecting this temple with the Namba Betsuin temple to the south.
