Tokai City Heishū Memorial Museum

The Tokai City Heishū Memorial Museum displays manuscripts, scrolls, and educational materials that illustrate the teaching methods of scholar samurai Hosoi Heishu.

The museum, established in 1974, honors Hosoi Heishu, who opened schools combining Confucian teachings with Shinto beliefs in Nagoya during the Edo Period.

Three large rocks at the museum entrance feature inscriptions of study, think, and do, representing the fundamental principles of Heishu's educational philosophy.

The museum operates from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm with free admission, remaining closed on Mondays except holidays, and provides parking for 28 cars and 2 buses.

The Oumeikan lecture hall within the museum bears the name of Heishu's original school in Edo, connecting modern visitors to his educational legacy.
