Tokai City Heishū Memorial Museum

The Tokai City Heishū Memorial Museum displays manuscripts, scrolls, and teaching materials from a scholar samurai of the Edo Period. The collection shows the methods and ideas that formed the foundation of his schools.

Hosoi Heishu opened schools during the Edo Period that blended Confucian teachings with Shinto beliefs. The museum was established in 1974 to preserve and share his educational legacy.

Three large rocks at the entrance display inscriptions representing the core values of Heishu's educational philosophy. These stones reflect what mattered most to this scholar's approach to teaching.
