Muryōkō-ji, Buddhist temple in Wakayama, Japan.
The temple stands in the center of Wakayama prefecture, featuring traditional Japanese architecture with wooden structures and ornate decorative elements.
Muryōkō-ji was established in 1829 by Tokuhon, a physician who served both the Takeda and Tokugawa clans during the medieval period.
The temple maintains its position as one of the thirty-three sacred sites along the Western Kanto pilgrimage route in Wakayama prefecture.
Visitors can access the temple grounds throughout the year and participate in regular Buddhist ceremonies that take place within the main hall.
Tokuhon, who founded the temple, developed medical treatments that combined traditional Japanese practices with contemporary techniques of his time.
