Sagamiko Park

Sagamiko Park is a recreational facility on elevated terrain in Midori-ku featuring a mountaintop Ferris wheel, amusement rides, and large outdoor areas for various activities. The grounds offer multiple pathways to explore, with natural surroundings and spaces designed for different age groups.

The park was created as part of Kanagawa Prefecture's plans to develop more recreational spaces and public leisure areas. The Illumillion light show was added in 2009 and has remained a popular evening attraction.

The park draws many visitors during spring when its cherry trees bloom, and people gather to celebrate the traditional hanami season with picnics and viewing walks.

The park is easily reached on foot from Sagamiko Station on the JR Chuo Line or by bus from Shinjuku. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since there are many pathways and elevation changes throughout the grounds.

The grounds house one of the largest radio-control car racing courses in the Kanto region along with mountain bike trails at different elevation levels. These specialized sports areas are popular with enthusiasts and often go unnoticed by many visitors.
