Kahoku-cho Benibana Material Hall

The Benibana Museum exhibits over 5,000 artifacts including weapons, household items, and historical documents in a former merchant residence.

The museum occupies the former residence of Shiroubei Horikome, a wealthy merchant who traded safflower during the Bunka period from 1804 to 1818.

The museum displays traditional Hina dolls, safflower-dyed costumes, and scale models of trading ships that transported safflower during the Edo period.

The entrance fee is 400 yen for adults, 150 yen for high school students, and 70 yen for children, with group discounts available.

A safflower dyeing workshop allows visitors to create their own silk handkerchiefs using traditional techniques in a restored historical storehouse.
