The Nabetachiyama Tunnel is a railway tunnel in Niigata Prefecture that passes beneath the Higashikubiki Hills. It connects Matsudai with Hokuhoku-Oshima and carries both passenger and freight trains on the Hokuhoku Line.
The project began in 1968 and went through multiple construction phases over many years. The tunnel opened to service in 1995 after completion of the extensive underground work.
