北湧別鬱金香公園

The Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park is a large-scale garden across Hokkaido with millions of tulips on display, showcasing a diverse collection of varieties. The grounds feature expansive flower fields, walking paths throughout, and marked spots for photography.

Local farmers established this project at the start of the 21st century to transform agricultural fields into a public destination. The initiative aimed to support regional tourism and bring economic benefits to the surrounding area.

The park displays Dutch-inspired architecture including a windmill that serves as an observation tower overlooking the tulip fields. Visitors experience the cultural bridge between Japan and the Netherlands through these architectural choices throughout the grounds.

This location reaches peak bloom in late spring, which is the ideal time to see the flowers at their best. Visitors can find cafes, gift shops, and designated walking routes that make exploring the grounds easy and comfortable.

Dozens of new tulip varieties are introduced into the park each year to maintain botanical diversity. These specimens come directly from specialized growers in the Netherlands and Japan.
