Kawasui Kawasaki Aquarium, Public aquarium in Nisshin-cho, Japan
Kawasui Kawasaki Aquarium is a public aquarium housing 300 species of aquatic life across 69 tanks organized into six themed zones on two floors of the Kawasaki Le Front building. The tanks display everything from local river systems to complex water landscapes with artificial elements like waterfalls.
The facility opened in July 2020 as the first aquarium installation within a commercial complex near Kawasaki Station. This marked a new type of cultural venue for the area.
The exhibits present different water environments, starting with the local Tama River ecosystem and extending to tropical freshwater regions across Asia, Africa, and South America.
The aquarium sits about one minute's walk from JR Kawasaki Station's east exit, making it easy to reach by train. Access is direct from the shopping complex where parking is also available.
Visitors can interact with capybaras in designated touch zones and experience these animals up close. The facility uses sophisticated lighting and sound systems to create full immersion into different water worlds.
