Chomsongdae, Astronomical observatory in Kaesong, North Korea.
The granite stone platform measures 210 centimeters on each side and stands 240 centimeters high, supported by five upright stones at its base.
Built during the early 10th century, this observatory served the Koryo Dynasty for astronomical surveys and weather measurements through specialized equipment.
The structure incorporates 360 granite stones in its construction, representing the number of days in a traditional lunar calendar year.
The observatory platform features corner holes at the top, which were used to mount instruments for tracking celestial movements and weather patterns.
A one-third scale model of the Kaesong Chomsongdae remains on permanent display at the Korean Central History Museum for educational purposes.
