Church of the Visitation, Žemaičių Kalvarija

The Church of the Visitation in Žemaičių Kalvarija is a baroque revival structure featuring two prominent spires that rise above the surrounding landscape. The interior combines baroque and neoclassical elements with ornate details and houses a venerated image of the Mother of God that draws devotion from visitors.

Construction began in 1780 as a community effort and was completed in 1822 under architect Augustinas Kosakauskas. The church gained official recognition in 1988 when it received the status of basilica from the papacy.
