Dzelzava Manor, Baroque manor house in Dzelzava Parish, Latvia
Dzelzava Manor is a Baroque-style manor house in Dzelzava Parish featuring symmetrical design and tall windows along its front facade. Today it serves as a primary school, allowing the building to remain in active community use while maintaining its original structure.
The manor was built in 1767 for Otto Johan von Transehe and suffered a fire in 1905 that required complete rebuilding. Architect Vilhelms Bokslafs led the restoration work in 1908.
The manor holds protected status as a National architectural monument of Latvia, representing the architectural heritage of the Vidzeme region.
The grounds include a park with both native and non-native tree species, making the setting pleasant for visitors to explore. Taking time to walk around the property allows you to see how the landscape complements the building.
A park surrounds the manor grounds, containing both native Latvian and foreign tree species that enhance the property's natural environment.
