Berlin architects Hans Grisebach and August Dinklage constructed this castle between 1893 and 1896 for German baron Adolf Gerhard von Wulf.
Following its nationalization in the early 20th century, the palace transformed into an educational institution, serving as a school from 1919 to 2002.
The palace welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Saturday, with guided tours available in multiple languages for groups upon reservation.
A fire in 2002 necessitated extensive restoration work, including the rebuilding of the roof and renovation of the left wing in 2003.
