Dauderi, Manor house museum in Sarkandaugava, Latvia
Dauderi is a manor house built with red brick and featuring German Neo-Romantic design elements such as towers and columns on its exterior. Inside, historical decorations and furnishings from the period of its construction remain preserved.
The building was constructed between 1897 and 1899 as a residence for Adolf von Bingner, who owned a brewery. It later became a summer residence for President Karlis Ulmanis.
The collection here includes military uniforms, judicial chains, folk costumes, and coins that reflect how people dressed and lived in earlier times. These objects tell stories about daily life and local traditions.
The house is located on Tvaika Street 44 in Riga and is open most days except Tuesdays. Visiting during daytime hours helps you see the interior details and decorations clearly in natural light.
The garden surrounding the house was designed by Georg Kuphaldt and features artificial castle ruins and a pond. This landscaping reflects how wealthy people in the late 1800s filled their gardens with romantic elements.
