Zunda Towers, Modern skyscraper in central Riga, Latvia.
Zunda Towers is a modern skyscraper in central Riga with two connected structures of glass panels and curved architectural lines. The building rises 123 meters and contains 33 floors above ground plus 4 basement levels housing both residences and offices.
Renowned architect Helmut Jahn, a German-American designer, created this complex which opened in 2017. Its completion reflected Riga's effort to revitalize its downtown area with contemporary structures.
The towers mark a shift toward contemporary design in Riga's center, showing how the city embraced modern architecture as part of its development. Visitors notice immediately how the curved shape fits into the urban landscape and draws attention with its distinctive silhouette.
The complex sits centrally and is easily reached on foot from other attractions around Riga. Visitors can view the exterior freely, though the interior spaces are privately used.
Each glass panel of the facade follows a tangential angle to the building's curve. This deliberate arrangement enables natural ventilation while creating a visually intriguing overlapping pattern across the surface.
