Viļāni mõis

Viļāni manor stands near the Malta river and displays architectural features typical of 18th-century Latvian noble estates. The complex includes several structures arranged around the main building, with outbuildings and a monastery block that once held an important religious collection.

The estate gained importance in 1507 when the de Overlak family acquired it and transformed it into one of the region's largest properties. Over following centuries, successive owners and religious communities shaped its development and character.

During Vincent Janovskis ownership, the estate housed one of only three flax mills in the Russian Empire. This three-story building stood as a remarkable example of industrial activity at a rural property.
