The National Library of Morocco occupies a modern building with square minarets, a glass roof displaying Arabic calligraphy, and a spacious central courtyard.
The institution began in 1924 as Bibliothèque Générale during French administration, received public status in 1926, and gained its current name through royal decree in 2003.
The library maintains 70,000 volumes of literature, manuscripts, and documents that represent the intellectual heritage of Morocco across multiple centuries.
The facility welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturday until 6:00 PM, with modified hours during Ramadan.
The library uses Virtua automation system to manage its collection, allowing registered users to contribute updates to the database through an online platform.
