Mohammed VI Tower, Skyscraper in Sale, Morocco
Mohammed VI Tower is a skyscraper in Salé that rises 250 meters above the city with 55 floors housing offices, apartments, and a hotel. The building sits along the Bouregreg River and combines multiple functions within a single structure.
The foundation stone was laid in 2016, with construction starting two years later as a signal for a new direction in African architecture. The project was part of larger urban changes along the waterfront.
The tower represents modern Morocco through its distinctive shape and role in reshaping Salé's waterfront with contemporary architecture. It has become a point of reference for residents, reflecting how the city is transforming its connection to the river.
The building features 40 elevators distributed between the main tower with 23 and the podium section with 17 units. This layout helps move people smoothly through the different areas and functions.
The south-facing side is covered with solar panels covering about 4,700 square meters (50,600 sq ft) that provide a significant portion of the building's energy. The structure also uses a rainwater collection and recycling system to reduce water consumption.
