Hoorn railway station

Hoorn railway station is a transport hub with three platforms and multiple tracks that connect passengers to various destinations. The facility serves routes to Alkmaar, Zaandam, and Enkhuizen as well as other connections through North Holland.

The building opened in 1883 when the railway line from Zaandam to Hoorn was completed. One year later the line extended to Enkhuizen, establishing the station as a key transport junction.

The station building displays architectural features typical of late 19th-century Netherlands and holds protected monument status. Visitors can observe the craftsmanship and design choices of that era when walking through the structure.

The station provides accessible platforms, ticket machines, waiting areas, and bicycle storage for visitors. Real-time departure displays help with navigation, and local bus connections are available on-site.

The station hosts both regular trains and a historic museum steam tram that operates nostalgic journeys to Medemblik. This vintage railway service connects historical transportation with tourism in the region.
