Klein Kasteel, Deurne, Medieval castle in Deurne, Netherlands.
The Klein Kasteel features a square donjon from the 14th century, accompanied by a white mansion added in 1857 near the Vlier river valley.
Built before 1383, the castle served as the residence for the lords of Deurne and remained a fief of the lords of Cranendonck until 1795.
The castle housed artists Otto and Adya van Rees from 1923 to 1927, who influenced local artist Hendrik Wiegersma's creative development.
While the castle grounds remain closed to public access, visitors can view the exterior structure from the main road in Deurne.
The castle survived a fire on September 24, 1944, when owner Pieter Wiegersma managed to extinguish the flames before extensive damage occurred.
