Klein Kasteel is a medieval castle in Deurne featuring a square donjon dating to the 14th century, complemented by a white mansion built in 1857 near the Vlier river valley. The two structures together create a distinctive ensemble visible from the main road.
The castle was built before 1383 and served as a residence for the lords of Deurne, remaining a fief under the lords of Cranendonck until 1795. This feudal relationship ended as the region entered the modern era.
The castle sheltered artists Otto and Adya van Rees during the 1920s, whose presence shaped the creative vision of local artist Hendrik Wiegersma. This artistic connection remains part of the place's cultural memory today.
