Huis te Westervelde

Huis te Westervelde is a brick townhouse featuring a hipped roof topped with blue glazed tiles and traditional details throughout. The building displays six-paned sliding windows and a paneled entrance door that reflect its original design.

The house was built in the late 1600s and underwent significant renovation after 1790. An agricultural barn was added in 1804, expanding the property's farming capacity.

The house shows how rural families combined living space with farming work in a single building. You can see how residents and farm workers shared the same structure for both domestic and agricultural purposes.

The property is located at Hoofdweg 19 and is maintained through regular preservation work on its original elements. As a protected monument, the building remains accessible to visitors interested in rural Dutch architecture.
