Sint-Lambertuskerk, Neo-Gothic church in Kralingen district, Rotterdam, Netherlands
Sint-Lambertuskerk is a Neo-Gothic church building with a cruciform basilica layout constructed from red brick and lighter stone blocks with decorative accents. A prominent tower at the front marks its exterior, while side aisles and chapels organize the interior space.
Architect Evert Margry designed and built this church between 1877 and 1878. Significant expansions with additional side aisles and chapels were added during the 1920s.
The interior features life-sized sculptures of apostles along the walls and original stained glass windows in the choir. These details create a spiritual atmosphere and reflect the religious traditions that shaped the space.
The building is located on Oostzeedijk Beneden and hosts regular services and community activities. Visitors should check in advance when entry is possible, as access is typically tied to scheduled services and programs.
The organ came from the builder Maarschalkerweerd in Utrecht and was installed in 1900. After a century of service, it received a complete restoration by Gebr Vermeule in Weert.
