Villa Zonnehoek, Municipal monument in Kralingen, Netherlands
Villa Zonnehoek is a residential villa positioned along Honingerdijk in Rotterdam with spacious rooms distributed across multiple levels. The house sits on a generous plot with mature trees and is situated close to the Arboretum Trompenburg.
The villa was built in 1891 by architect A. van Ameyden in a Neorenaissance style. An extension was added in 1914 designed by Michiel Brinkman.
From 1956 to 1996, the building operated as a children's home, leading to interior modifications before returning to private residential status.
The property is located in a quiet residential area near well-known garden and park spaces. Visitors should note that the estate is predominantly private, and the best views are available from the public street.
The building underwent comprehensive renovation work from 2018 to 2019 and received modern installations throughout. This restoration brought it to a notable status in Rotterdam's real estate market.
