Schokkerhaven, Harbor hamlet in Noordoostpolder, Netherlands.
The marina settlement contains 50 detached villas positioned along both sides of the harbor, offering 250 boat moorings at the Ketelmeer waters.
The harbor received its name in 1941 to honor the former island of Schokland and initially served as a transportation point for agricultural products.
Prince Bernhard's 1951 visit to Schokkerhaven included meetings with engineers who worked on the Zuiderzee land reclamation projects.
The western section features a public beach with a restaurant pavilion, shop facilities, and dedicated parking areas for visitors.
An artificial island called IJsseloog lies between Schokkerhaven and Ketelhaven, constructed specifically for storing contaminated sludge.
